This is my latest painting, which started out as a sketch I made to practice in painting a realistic character. Painting the face and hair has always been a challenge to me, that's why I made this in monotone first ^_^ better for me to understand shapes and simple shades in the human face; I'm glad how this turned out.

This artwork was one of two I made last May for the first digital art exhibit of our group Rogues Gallery, and the theme was "Island Life".

This started with a really detailed drawing I have. I've never quite made a "serious" horror painting before so I decided to color this. I was going through Carlos Cabrera's painting tutorials when I made this and they really helped a lot. I went crazy with the details and shadows.
